What They’re Wearing – 2019 NBA All-Star Jerseys???

All-Star Game voting is in full swing, and there is a decent chance that three Sixers will be making the trip to Charlotte.

Early this morning, we got a glimpse of what Joel, Ben, and Jimmy might be wearing.  Twitter user Josman Suri (@JosmanSuri) posted a photo of a Lakers jersey on sale at the Nike Store in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  He assumed that it was the 2019 All-Star uniforms.  His assumptions were confirmed by Paul Lukas, head honcho at Uni Watch, who had inside knowledge of this year’s designs, but hadn’t seen any photos himself.

The jersey is shown in black.  Like last year, the other team will be wearing white (captains again this year – not East vs. West).  The uniforms themselves have a retro feel which is nice.  I have a feeling the white version will look better with the red stars than the black.  I’m personally not a fan of the large logo in the middle trend, but with a 76ers logo, these could honestly pass as an alternate jersey.

While I’m happy to see some color back on the uniforms this year, part of me wishes that they would have pulled some more design aspects from the last time the game was played in Charlotte back in 1991.  Those didn’t say East or West anywhere on them, so it would have worked for the current version of the game.  It feels like a wasted opportunity.

I understand that they want to be able to put the team logo on it for retail purposes, but the 1991 design has such a classic 90’s so bad it’s good feel.  It would have been cool to see a modern rendition.

There was big sneaker news today, too, but I’ll get to that in a few days.

Stay tuned.
