Time to See For Sure if Horford Signing was Worth It

So far, it is safe to say the Al Horford off-season signing has not been a success. Things have a chance to change once the Sixers take on the Celtics in the playoffs starting Monday.

One of the main reasons that Philly signed Horford was to kill two birds with one stone, by improving their own team and to hurt the rival Celtics. Horford had been one of Boston’s most important players in recent years and left the team with a big hole at center. Unfortunately, Boston has moved on from the loss just fine, while the Sixers have struggled more than anyone expected.

With this three vs. six matchup of teams that hate each other, Horford has a huge opportunity for redemption. Can he turn things around in the playoffs? Can he have success against a much smaller Celtics squad? Will he make Boston regret losing him?

The Sixers may still have issues with Ben Simmons most likely out the whole series, but that doesn’t mean Horford can’t step up his individual play. How the big man affects the series should bring a final answer to if the signing was worth it.
