Sixers Pregame: Sixers v. Pistons

The Sixers are on the road tonight against the Detroit Pistons. It’s the Sixers first back-to-back (tomorrow we are in Milwaukee to take on the Bucks) of the 13 we have this season. Ben Simmons left last game in the 1st quarter with back tightness and since has been ruled doubtful for tonight. Which makes sense if you are giving him the extra day rest to face the Bucks tomorrow night.

Since Ben will likely not play tonight it should mean that Markelle Fultz will get a more vital role in the offense at point guard tonight. Sixers fans are still waiting for that break out game from Fultz. It will be interesting to see what faith Brett Brown has in Fultz to run the offense and how quick of a trigger Brett will have to replace Fultz with TJ.

Last season Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond exchanged words. Embiid attacked Drummond’s defensive and shooting ability and Drummond took a shot at Embiid’s playing restrictions. The Sixers went on to win all four of their match-ups against the Pistons and Embiid showed his dominance after exchanging words by posting 21 PPG and 9 RPG. I expect that Joel will again dominate the floor and be a huge contributor on the offensive floor, particularly with Ben out.
