Game #18: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Charlotte Hornets

Location: Charlotte

Line: +2.5

Watch/Listen: NBCS Philadelphia/97.5 The Fanatic

The Sixers (10-7) are coming into their third meeting of the season with Charlotte. In the previous two meetings, the Sixers have come out on top, but Charlotte has not been easy. In the first contest Kemba Walker could not be silenced and kept the Hornets in the game. The Sixers were able to come up big in the final minute to win 105-103. In the second game, the Sixers went into halftime with a 15 point lead, but that quickly evaporated. In the third quarter they were outscored by 4 and by 11 in the 4th. Although the Sixers came out on top in that game 133-132, they’ve been inconsistent down the stretch. In the early going, the Sixers have blown several double-digit leads. If they want to become a premier team in the East, EVERYONE needs to focus on taking care of the ball.

On a good note, the Sixers just came off a thrilling 113-107 win vs. the struggling Utah Jazz. In his first home game as a Sixer, newly acquired Jimmy Butler dropped 28 points on 12/15 shooting. The Sixers brought him in to be clutch down the stretch and thats exactly what he was the other night.

Although the Hornets have played Philly tightly this year, both of those games were pre-Jimmy Butler. The Sixers should have no problem going down to Carolina and coming out with a victory as they play the second of a back to back. Joel Embiid has been consistently dominate all season long and is proving to be a true MVP candidate. The Sixers will look to generate more chemistry with their new teammate and get on a roll.
