Sixers Players Comment on Brett Brown

It is no secret that Brett Brown’s days of being the 76ers head coach are about to come to an end.  Some 76ers had some interesting comments about him after the 76ers following their 110-106 Game 4 loss to the Boston Celtics that ended the Sixers time in the bubble. Josh Richardson and Joel Embiid both referred to Brown as a “good guy” and that they love him as a person. The only issue is, I don’t believe they love him as a coach very much. There is no doubt that Brett Brown is tremendous man with excellent character, but that doesn’t win you championships. Having great character doesn’t help your best player, Joel Embiid, stay in shape throughout a season. Great character doesn’t help your former number 1 overall pick and point guard develop a desperately needed jump shot. It doesn’t help you manage the end of games or win you games with your scheming. Brett Brown is a great guy and helped many former Sixers players like Robert Covington and TJ McConnell reach their potential and receive nice contracts, but he wasn’t the right guy to get this team to the finals. He couldn’t even get them to a Conference Finals. His time here was filled with ups and downs (many downs), but it must come to an end.
