Sixers Fall to Bucks 123-108

On the second half of a rare back to back, the Sixers (2-3)  fell to the Bucks (4-0) 123-108. Giannis Antetokounmpo was absolutely unstoppable logging a triple double (32-18-10). The Greek Freak controlled the boards and simply out hustled the Sixers under their own basket. He showed why he is one of the top candidates for MVP. While the Sixers came out hot in the first quarter jumping out to a double digit lead, the team quickly began to fade.

Joel Embiid who began the game very slow came along with his fourth consecutive game with 30 or more points, but it simply wasn’t enough. Joel also added 19 boards. Ben Simmons dazzled in his return from a back tightness injury, recording the 14th triple double of his career. Ben was back to making ridiculous passes and playing good defense, but he was about the only one. Dario Saric, in particular, looked all out of sorts. For a majority of this short season Dario has looked sluggish and not quite able to find his form. Dario has been known for his slow starts, but something about his flat jump shot and lackadaisical defense has made me wonder if playing summer ball has begun to wear on him. I completely understand playing for your country, but at some point I believe Dario needs to understand the Sixers need him 100% for the whole season.

Brett Brown and the Sixers need to create a game plan that allows Embiid to stay under the basket and protect the paint. In the last two games the Sixers have been outscored in the paint 116-88. The Sixers are back in action Saturday when they face Charlotte who is 2-3 on the season.
