Rating the Activities of Sixers Players in the Bubble
The Sixers arrived in Orlando on Thursday in preparation for the NBA’s restart. Many have been curious wondering what life would be like for the players to have to stay in the bubble for several weeks.
Thanks to the power of social media, fans have been able to see what a lot of players have experienced so far staying at the hotels. Watching the players adjust has been entertaining and brings a sense of relatability by showing how everyone is in the same boat. Whether it is us or our favorite Sixers, we are all making some sort of adjustments in life during this time.
Here are some of the highlights of what the Sixers have been doing in their free time, and how I rate the activities.
Tobias Harris Not Holding Back Feelings Towards Boban Marjanovic
Sixers fans in 2019 loved seeing the adventures of best friends Bobi and Tobi, but unfortunately that seemed to break up once the center signed with the Mavericks. Once it was announced that the Mavericks and Sixers would be in the Grand Floridian, people became eager to see if their paths would cross again.
Sure enough the old pals found each other on one of the first days, where they seemed to be a bit…dismissive to each other.

It did not make Harris feel any better when he saw Marjanovic and Luka Doncic hanging out together later on.

This relationship is still hilarious and will never get old.
Even though I am sure it must be sad for Tobias to have to witness an old friend live his new life, getting jealous may not be the best way to cope with it. Hopefully the Sixers forward is able to move on and enjoy his own life at Disney. I will give it some bonus points though for being so entertaining for fans.

Joel Embiid Arrives in Hazmat Suit
This may not technically be an “activity” but it has been one of the best Sixers moments from the bubble so far, so I had to include it.
Embiid arrived to Orlando decked out in a hazmat suit, ready to stay safe and take on anyone in his way towards a title.

As he always does, Embiid completely won this moment. He is locked in and ready to get things started once again. Also, everyone should totally click here and check out these dope shirts made based off this event.

Ben Simmons and Josh Richardson Go Fishing
Fishing might be the best activity the bubble has to offer for players. It gets players out of their rooms, they can be out by the water, they can bond with teammates, and it is easy to do while social distancing.
Richardson was able to capture this moment of Simmons snatching a fish.

There is just one problem…Simmons misses the water and knocks the fish on the edge when throwing it back in! The memes for this are going to be so annoying. Need to dock (fishing pun intended) off one point for leaving it short.

Matisse Thybulle Films and Edits Video Documenting First Day
Just launched a new @youtube! Episode 1 of my new #NBABubble series called #WelcomeToTheBubble just dropped. I shot and edited the entire thing. More episodes coming soon. https://t.co/RL6MI25HWo pic.twitter.com/uElXMh7rVI

Every basketball fan needs to watch Thybulle’s video. It is incredible.
The nine-minute video captures the rookie’s moments leaving for Orlando, arriving to the bubble, going over protocol, checking in, and showing off his room. It shows great perspective of what the players have to go through and does so in a typical, humorous Matisse fashion. What might be most impressive though is that he filmed and edited the video all on his own! When I first watched it I assumed it was mostly done by a Sixers digital staff member, but nope. Kudos to the young NBA player for having the ability to make a great video like that with lots of edits and music.
I cannot wait to see what the next video entails.
