Post Game- Furkan Korkmaz shines as Sixers win in Miami

A few observations tonight as the Sixers beat the Heat 124-114 down in South Beach. The Sixers arguably had their best overall performance of the season. The Sixers shot 47% from the field but the key team stat that helped propel them to victory was the limit in turnovers. The Sixers just a week ago committed 27 turnovers but tonight only gave up 9.

The man that exceeded expectations was Furkan Korkmaz. The Turkish sharpshooter found out last week that the organization was not going to extend his option. There was talk today that Korkmaz could be in a trade package to get Kyle Korver from Cleveland. Well, Korkmaz used that as fuel to the fire as he scored 16 points on 22 minutes of action. He played crunch time minutes, something Markele Fultz has yet to even attempt. The Sixers have to keep this man in the rotation as he is an asset this bench needs. He can fill in for the loss of Marco Belinelli.

A huge concern was Markelle Fultz from the free throw line. We all thought that the worst shot in sports was Charles Barkley’s golf swing, well the sports world may have found something even worse to make fun of. Fultz literally double hitched a free throw. Folks, a 10-year-old kid could have a better form then Fultz had tonight at the line. The scary part is the free throw before looked normal, this all doesn’t make sense. It was reported that Drew Hanlen and Markelle Fultz are not on speaking terms and will not be working together anytime soon. Hanlen was supposed to be the savior, to bring Fultz back from the dead, but something happened. The future looks blurry for the 20-year-old out of Washington. The Sixers are in a championship mindset with the addition of Jimmy Butler, so Fultz has to fix his issues now or he will be riding the bench come March.

The Sixers picked up their second road win of the season with another legendary performance from Joel Embiid. He put up 35 points and 18 rebounds with a dagger three to seal the deal for the Sixers in the closing minutes.  The Sixers now head to Orlando to meet up with their new teammate Jimmy Butler. A new era awaits and now the team will be fully healthy and have a full roster. A new big three is about to take the Eastern Conference by storm.

Jimmy Butler news conference is at 11 am on NBC Sports Philadelphia tomorrow morning.
