EMVPiid Is Back

The Sixers 106-96 win over Boston gave us many things. It gave Philly a season sweep of the now-.500 Celtics. It gave us a showing of Danny Green being physically unable to miss a bucket. But most importantly, it put Joel Embiid back in the MVP race (that is, if you ever took him out of it to begin with).

The superstar center gave another dominating performance against Boston. In 33 minutes, he dropped 35 points, got to the free throw line 20 times and gave us plenty of highlights.

The best highlight though had to be this…

This stepback is one of several new moves Embiid has had success with this season. He did this earlier in the year, and maybe we will see him do it again later on. The fact that a 7’2″ center can pull out stepbacks as good as anyone is dangerous.

Embiid appears to have picked up right where he left off before getting hurt: Playing at an MVP level as one of the most talented and most dominant players in the league. Can’t wait to watch him down this final stretch.
