Donovan Mitchell blames loss on the refs, puts security guards life at risk, and proves to not be a leader

Sixers fans were starting to celebrate the massive win vs. Utah, then Donovan Mitchell took things to a whole new level.

The all-star guard was ejected from the game with 30.8 seconds remaining in overtime when he let emotions get the best of him. The ejection was due to his second technical foul…on a play he was not even involved in! He just could not handle his frustration as the Sixers put the game out of reach.

Mitchell’s antics did not stop there. As he left the court, he took his anger out on a water jug – accidentally smacking it into a security guard. Mitchell immediately apologized to the worker, but come on man, you cannot do that.

And what capped it off? In his post-game press conference, Mitchell blamed the loss on the refs and claimed that the Jazz won in his opinion. I cannot think of the last time I remember a player being so salty after a loss.

We will see if the league makes Mitchell pay consequences for his actions. It just made the win that much more rewarding for the Sixers.

Philly fans now gets to relax heading into All Star break. This was a great win against the NBA’s best team, and reaffirming we have the MVP and DPOY was extremely satisfying.
