Doc Rivers believes in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid together on the Sixers
Doc Rivers officially was introduced as the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers today.
A press conference was held at 1pm discussing the goals and expectations for the 5 years of Doc Rivers coaching the Sixers.
Due to Covid 19, this was a virtual meeting that had reporters asking questions via Zoom. Lets just say not every reporter is great with technology. The moderator had to tell the media reporters on the Zoom meeting, to turn off their microphones so that sound did not interfere with the feed.
For the reporters sake, lets hope we can go back to in person press conferences.
Doc Rivers had to answer about 10-15 reporter questions that seemed to repeat in a similar answer each time.
So far Doc Rivers states this multiple times:
“Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid have won 65% of their games together when they both play”
So, staying healthy will be key.

Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid will be the glue to the new era of Sixers basketball. Rivers was very high on Matisse as well, calling him an all defensive star in the making.

Doc planned on taking some time off, but this was an opportunity he could not turn down. The belief is this team can go far if the right adjustments are taking this off season. Doc is a proven winner, and the expectations are always at the highest regard for a coach with that resume.
Now, it is time to go to work.
