Ben Simmons Named to Third Team All-NBA, Joel Embiid Does Not Make List
Sixers All-Star Ben Simmons has been named to the 2019-2020 Third Team All-NBA, per Shams Charania. This is Ben’s first time making an All-NBA team, coming after he made the All-NBA Defensive team for the first time this season as well.
The bad news, though, is that our other star did not make All-NBA. Joel Embiid fell short of the list, behind big men Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic and Rudy Gobert. JoJo made Second Team the past two seasons.
2019-20 All-NBA teams:
First: LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Anthony Davis, James Harden
Second: Damian Lillard, Kawhi Leonard, Nikola Jokic, Chris Paul, Pascal Siakam
Third: Ben Simmons, Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Rudy Gobert, Russell Westbrook

I am so happy for Simmons and seeing his talent FINALLY become recognized the past week, but really?! No Embiid?!?! I get it wasn’t a great year for his standards, but to have Gobert make it over him is shocking to me. If the award is for the regular season results, you could even make an argument Embiid should be above Jokic!
Oh well, hopefully this just adds more motivation for Embiid to work even harder for next season.
