Sixers Select Tyrese Maxey with 21st Pick

The Sixers drafted Tyrese Maxey with their first round pick, the 21st overall pick.

Maxey is a freshman guard from Kentucky. Standing at 6’3″ and 198 pounds, he is a ball-dominant guard who can also thrive on defense. He has plenty of talent and potential, as many experts did not expect to fall to the 21st pick. Maxey needs to become a more consistent three-point shooter. He only shot 29.2% from behind the arc last season. However, he still scored 14.0 PPG and had an overall FG% at 42.7%, so he has shown the ability to score.

The Sixers still have second round selections tonight at picks 36, 49 and 58.

This comes after Philly today traded Al Horford to Oklahoma City for Danny Green.

Welcome to Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey!
