BAWMERMAN

Ever since his breakout game against the Timberwolves on October 30th, Furkan Korkmaz has been exactly what Brett Brown promised he could be, a bawmer (bomber *translated from Brett Speak)

The Sixers have entered a period of thickness over quickness and with that comes a change in playstyle, focusing less on perimeter shooting and more on bullying in the paint. With this big change came the question of, where will this rosters shooting come from? Losing JJ Redick in free agency and trading away Landry Shamet left this team without a sharpshooter.

Brett made a statement in the beginning of the season about the teams’ lack of a pure shooter saying “I need to grow a bomber”, “Why not Furk” and Brett was confident in the potential he saw in the Turkish native from the jump, playing him 19 minutes in the season opener against the Celtics, even though he only made one shot.  As “A Basketball Fan” I was surprised to see the guy that requested a trade, whose option wasn’t picked up, then reluctantly brought back because nobody wanted to sign him, getting so much run in a season opener against a division rival, but as “A Furkan Fan” I was excited for him to get a chance to show off the guy who dropped 40 in summer league.

Brett’s trust in his B-52 has recently been rewarded over the past 5 games, Furkan has been fantastic shooting 41.9% from beyond the arc. “why not Furk” doesn’t sound so crazy anymore …

Who’s shooting better than Landry Shamet this season?

Why not Furk?

Who’s the Sixers best three-point shooter?

Why not Furk?

Who’s winning, Most Improved Player this season?

Why not Furk?

We wouldn’t be talking about Furkan if something spectacular didn’t happen, Saturday, November 11th the Sixers were down 2 against the portland trailblazers after a clutch three from Anfernee Simons.

Brett Brown called in an airstrike.

Who’s taking the last shot?

WHY NOT FURK!!!
