Sixers-Nets Pregame Outline

Game #22: Philadelphia 76ers @ Brooklyn Nets

Location: Barclay’s Center, Brooklyn

Watch: NBCSports Philly

Listen: 97.5 The Fanatic

Line: Sixers -3

The Philadelphia 76ers (13-8) go to Brooklyn off the heels of their first home loss of the season. Philadelphia, disappointed after losing to the 2-14 Cavaliers, look for some revenge against a Brooklyn team that defeated them earlier this month. When the Sixers first visited Brooklyn, they were struggling tremendously on the road and the team was much different.

The pre-Jimmy Butler 76ers were absolutely horrible in their first game vs. Brooklyn earlier this year. In a game they easily should’ve won, the Sixers shot 20% from beyond the arc and couldn’t get anything going on offense. Now a month later, the Sixers will look to avenge their abysmal effort earlier this season.

Brooklyn has been very inconsistent all year, and they are certainly missing breakout guard Chris Levert after suffering a dislocated right foot attempting to block a shot vs. the Timberwolves. Against the Sixers in the first matchup he recorded 20 points and was a key reason why they won by 30. The Nets have just 2 wins since the injury, and look to figure out how to win games without him.

Jimmy Butler will be day-to-day and is questionable tonight as he suffered an ankle injury against the Cavs. Butler said he would like to play, but has still been experiencing some discomfort. With or without Butler, the Sixers energy will be much higher tonight after a dismal effort last time out. When the Sixers play turnover free basketball, they are one of the most dangerous teams in the league. I expect them to come out and win tonight.

UPDATE: Butler will play tonight (h/t Serena Winters)
