Tough loss for Jake’s Gambling Corner to start the year 0-1. Hopefully some of you took the other advice in the post and took Sixers to cover the spread or Tobias over on points. The silver lining is, we can finally dominate lottery teams for a full game! I was obviously a bit upset the bet did not hit when Seth was sat the entire fourth quarter, but it is awesome to know we have the depth and the attitude to put these bad teams away in a way we never showed the ability to before.
It is really a testament to the coaching and culture Doc has established in Philly and is honestly making me consider doubling down big on Sixers to get out of the East, currently sitting at +600 via DraftKings Sportsbook- only trailing Milwaukee and Brooklyn who are both set at +250. Something to think about for those of you who like me, are unsure that the youth of this team would be able to win a title this year. Anyway, lets get to tonight’s pick.
In our first game of the year, also against the Wizards, we looked sloppy. We squeaked out a win against a far inferior Washington team thanks to Embiid’s stellar play down the stretch. Everything I have seen from Doc and these men this season suggests that will not be the case again. Now we know Embiid can take over this game whenever he wants. Now the team has a better sense of our general game plan and Ben and Jo are getting used to floor spacing of which they have never had before. We have an unlocked Tobias Harris who is averaging 19 and 8 on the season with 52/47/92 shooting splits. I think we dominate this game tonight and show Westbrook, Beal, and the disgusting Davis Bertans that they had no business keeping that game close two weeks ago.
My pick of the night is simple- Sixers -6.5. Sixers will cover the spread tonight. If you are feeling more confident than me, Sixers -10.5 as an alternate spread is set at +163 on DK. A $25 bet on that would payout over $65.

Due to the close nature of the first time, I am not choosing that for the pick- but I feel more than confident in saying the Sixers will win by 7 or more tonight. If you are looking for a specific player to root for in the form of a prop bet- I’ll be honest it is a tough choice. Any of these overs could hit, but they could all easily go under with how much of a team effort these wins have been.
Embiid is at 27.5- my gut says under looking at the last few games, but like I said before he saw how easily he could dominate this team down the stretch in our first matchup with them. Tobi’s line finally moved from 18.5 to 20.5. Vegas is wising up. That probably goes over but I don’t trust him enough YET to put my money on it.

Ben has flirted with a triple double every game and has been aggressive going to the hoop in the past couple outings. I am fairly confident he will exceed that total- but not as confident as I am that the Sixers cover the spread and handily take down Washington tonight.
